My daughter received her acceptance letter today from Marjons, the only university that she wanted to go to (or applied for). This is wonderful news… which had me blubbering down the phone to her like a fool. My tears were a mixture of incredible happiness and pride in her achivievement… but also because… instead of being by her side when she opened the most important letter...

Just a little thing that I’ve been working on for a while involving over 80,000 files and documents covering almost 6,000 linear metres of shelving… half of which has to be emptied before it can be dismantled and re-erected in a completely different location and then filled with the same items but in a completely different order…. no...
The marvellous Mr B sent me a link to a recipe for Toad In The Hole. I’ve made this for years and it’s never occurred to me to use small sausages… or wrapping the sausages in bacon either. Next time cannot come soon enough….

With Tumblr v5, I’ve finally realized the full power of “like”. It’s like a second dashboard! As I can’t watch videos at work, it makes sense for me to likemark the ones that look good for later on, when I have the ability to watch. Also, I no longer have to skip through some of my favorite longer form tumblrs at times when I’m speedily catching up with the dashboard… just click...
I’m really pleased with myself (is that crass?). I arranged an introduction for my friend Jason to meet some people at work. He won them over with his portfolio and has now been commissioned to take pictures of my new office building. I’m so pleased for him.
I’m going to have to do something about all this stuff I’ve got called “work”… it’s encroaching on my Tumblr time and thats just not on. I spend so much time catching up with the pages and pages on my dashboard that I’ve missed that by the time I’ve finished there’s a shed load more posts to catch up on…..

breakfast in bed brought to me by my wonderful daughter who also had the day off from school
made bread… (OK… I actually loaded my new breadmaker and watched it work its magic)

It took me a few minutes to figure this out. Click the big font, white-ish, version of your name that is to your right; the one with the number followers and customize below it. I prefer this new version...

On Thursday I bought new sheets and a duvet set and comforter. For the first time in my almost 41 years I ventured to buy dark colours. My duvet cover and pillow slips are dark purple velvet with some kind of rumpled taffeta-like...

I hear/read that Zach Klein is a fan of Nico Muhly. My friend Barrett has gotten Nico to agree to write a new piece for percussion and wind ensemble. Anyone that knows Nico’s work knows this would be an amazing piece. However, the current cost is $10k.
