“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”—Neil Gaiman (via vinh)
I really like this… I’ll carry it into 2010 with me…
I was trying to find Interesting Family oriented Tumblrs to follow….and unfortunately, in Trending Tags, Family isnt mentioned..(Cute/Love/Avatar)..’Women’ features just pictures of Women, quotes, Harry Met Sally dialogues….and I wonder if anyone can recommend any Interesting Tumblrs for me to follow. For the most part I enjoy Tumblr, and there are a handful of Tumblrs that I can relate to. I just need to make this experience more relevant to me.
D’ya know what I mean? Or am I looking in the wrong place?
OK. Good, now for Coffee…

It’s 11.45pm… I’m sitting in bed on a freezing cold night in a room thats so warm I am considering cracking a window…
I can hear the sound of bells coming from the church at the top of the hill to the west of my house… calling all the “good people” (as my Father would say) to church.
This time of year always makes us think of loved ones… be they near or far… in either a physical sense or a spiritual sense. At this time of year I miss my Father with an ache that cannot be described. I wish he could see what a wonderful young lady Hannah has grown in to and yet how she is still as excited by Christmas as she was when he spent his last Christmas with us when she was 5 years old.
Where ever you are in this world.. what ever you celebrate at this time of year… I hope you have the good fortune to share some of the time with people you love and hold close to your heart.
Will has been responsible for two of the great trips of my recent life, for which I owe him a lot. I have to admit to missing the snow; Oregon was a beautiful place to spend the season, although New Orleans is still my favorite city for New Year’s.
This post & accompanying photos bring back stinging yet weirdly happy memories of a lifetime ago when I was in a relationship with a man who lived in Portland. One of the visits involved a snow covered Mount Hood with a visit to Timberline Lodge.
I guess that now I can look back with a little fondness rather than being overcome with bitterness & hatred means I’m moving on & getting over the failed relationship… doesn’t it?
I’ve been watching this story develop over the past few weeks and it just gets more a more exciting. The thought of Schumacher teaming up again with Ross Brawn and racing against Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button who are both at the top of their game is mouth watering for an F1 geek like me. I’m also incredibly excited for Lewis Hamilton - he grew up being inspired by Schumacher but never got the chance to race against him and he must also be incredibly excited at the prospect of racing against one of his heroes.
It’s not often I pick people out to heap praise upon (unless they pay me vast sums of money). Tumblr is full… as you know… of wonderfully talented people… writers… photographers… know-alls… amazing link finders.
Everyday I am blown away by the photography of boyghost. I know little about him. I started following him because he kept popping up in my dashboard through re-blogs from other people and, once I followed him… I realised what I was missing.
If you’re looking for someone who takes amazingphotos that always take your breath away… do yourself a favour and follow him.
