I think I might… finally… be growing up.  How do I know this?  I just made a rather sound financial decision after weighing up a number of factors.

I have enough money in my savings account to more than cover the entire cost of my vacation to this place next year.  However it is in a savings account earning me quite good interest.

The bad news is:-

• I have to pay for flights now to guarantee the ones I want
• I have no credit card… (having paid them all off earlier in the year and cancelled them all)
• if I pay by debit card the money will come out of the savings account straightaway
• I’ll miss out on 10 months worth of interest

So… I just applied and was accepted for a credit card with 12 months interest free credit on purchases.

So… the good news:-

• I pay for my flights now
• still save a little something every month
• carry on getting the interest on the savings already in my account
• look forward to staying in this villa on the beach next year…
• pay it all off in one lump sum next August keeping all the interest…

Scary stuff this adult crapola…

That being said I’m quitting Tumblr for the night to go play Assassins Creed until Hannah gets home.  So much for being an adult.
