After reading what Julia Allison revealed about Jakob Lodwick on Gawker it got me thinking about the internet. (google it!!!)
One of the things about the internet… that has tripped up many a blogger…. is that once you say it… it’s there.. on the net… for all to see.. and there is pretty much bugger all you can do about it… because even deleting it doesn’t guarantee to get rid of it… it can still be there. You can still see it. I found this out personally many moons ago when I happened to visit Dan’s MySpace page in the months following our relationship breakdown and I saw.. very briefly (because he deleted it almost immediately) an apology of sorts. It was the one and only time I ever saw him refer to either myself or my daughter following the Craigslist affair and the end of our relationship and… for about six weeks after the original posting…. if I googled his blog and then subsequently visited it by clicking the “cached” version the blog post he made was there.. in full… for all to see. I doubt if he ever thought I would read it and I’m sure that… as soon as he himself had re-read it…. he quickly reverted to the hillbilly shithead that he is and thought it was more of an apology than he thought I could ever possibly deserve and amended it to remove my name and my daughters.
But I saw it… and the actual act of deleting it I found even more hurtful than he could imagine.
